History

Just to make sure that most people will have a chance to understand what Kind in mind is about, I write this in English. Kind in mind is a Danish band. The history is ordered in chapters. The latest news are right here below.

3. December 2014. Kindinmind has changed, it has been revitalized. We are now three people: Christoffer, Rasmus and me. The music is more funky now and it's more to the point. It is better.

2. Christoffer went on a long trip to South America at the end of 2012 and the rest of the guys had to wait for him to get back, befor we could continue playing and working w/ the music. Before Christoffer left Denmark we played a concert at Den Kreative Skole in Silkeborg. It was on a sunday night and it was the first concert we played together. That was on the 23'rd of september

1. One day Morten came to me and said: "How about the songs you are writing, maybe we should get together and find out if it is something we can work with".

What Morten didn't know was that I had had that thought for quite some time, I was only waiting for the right opportunity to ask him, if we should form a band.

We met in late 2010 and I played my songs for him and Morten played along on his electric guitar. We both liked what we heard, so we were ready for the next move.

We needed a bass player and a drummer and we called some guys that we wanted to play with and that we thought would be interested: Lars Møllenberg and Rune Schmidt. Both of them wanted to play and we started rehearsing in February 2011.

After some five or six rehearsals I said: "I think we need a keyboard player". As a matter of fact it was my idea from the very beginning. I just didn't know who to contact. I had the notion that it should be a girl, just to balance out the sexes in the band a little.

The other guys went: "What"? They had no idea that I would suggest we found a keyboard player.

My mind crossed Flemming Høgild Berg and I thought he is the right guy. First of all he is a great keyboardist and apart from that he can sing harmonies, play guitar and he is also a well experienced music arranger. Flemming was such an obvious choice, that he made me forget the idea of having a girl in the band.

Flemming started rehearsing with Kind in mind and he just took on to it like he'd been playing with us from the very beginning.

Now we had a five piece band and all the hard and fun work with the music could begin.

The aim was to make an album of thirteen songs. The songs were already there. We had to find out how to arrange them and how to play them.

Basically we rehearsed once a week and after some nine month, we had, to a certain extent, found out how to arrange and play all the songs. Then one night Rune called me and said he no longer wanted to play bass in the band.

I wasn't exactly shocked I was sad, I liked Rune as a person and his playing and backing vocals were excellent. He really contributed to the music in every ways.

I called Morten and told him about the situation and that I knew this other bass player, Christoffer Holm Clausen, that I had worked with one time. Morten said: "Go for it".

I talked to Christoffer and he said: "Yes man, I'm glad you called me". Christoffer has been playing with us ever since.

This could have been a major crisis for Kind in mind and even the end of our history, but it turned out to be a new boost for the band. Christoffer is an amazing musician and such a good person. He is the youngest player in the band and he is contributing to the music with his modern approach.

When I started playing it was always on the basis of working together in a rehearsal room. I can't find out working alone on laptops and so on. So I always wanted to find some people that were ready to take the time out to physically meet and make music together in an old school rehearsal room situation.

The thirteen songs for the first album is about various sides of life, love, family issues and politics. We hope that they will appear to each represent a small part of a bigger picture, that you can relate to.

I came up with the name Kind in mind, as I was walking home from a sad sad love situation. Often times you get very creative, I think, when you really need something good, something positive to hang on to. I wanted to make a band name out of the abbreviation Kim. By the way, when I got home from that walk, I wrote the song Little Love Story.

Kind in mind is a dream come true - dream on!

Best wishes Kim.
